PORT HURON, MI — Mark Alexis Sokoloff, 75, a Port Huron resident, died suddenly at home Monday, May 25, 2020. He was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated from Port Huron High School as President of the Class of 1963. Mark was a star athlete in baseball, basketball, tennis, golf, and swimming, and played piano and trumpet with Pat McCaffery “The Wiz Kids” group in Ann Arbor. Mark was a U.S. Army Veteran who spoke Russian and Spanish. Mark held an Associate of Arts degree from Port Huron Junior College in 1966, Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1968, Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University in 1968, and Juris Doctor from Detroit College of Law in 1977. In 1970, Mark worked as Vice President of Accounting and Business Administration at Walsh College, Troy, MI, and was named Vice President and Director of Legal Affairs in 1977. Private practice ensued. Mark is survived by two nephews, and will be missed by many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Alexis Russlin Sokoloff, and sister, Tamara Hope Sokoloff. Burial service was June 4th, 2020 at Grace Episcopal Church, Port Huron. Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society, 6266 Lapeer Road, Clyde, MI 48049. PORT HURON, MI - Mark Sokoloff, 75, passed away very unexpectedly on Monday, May 25, 2020, in his home in Port Huron, Michigan.

Mark was born March 23, 1945 to Alexis N. and Sophie (Korowin) Sokoloff in Port Huron, Michigan.

Mark graduated from Port Huron High School, Class of 1963. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.B.A degree in 1967. He furthered his studies graduating from Wayne State University in 1968 with an MBA. Mark earned his Juris Doctorate law degree from Detroit College of Law, Class of 1977.

Mark Sokoloff was a licensed attorney for 43 years and had an office in Port Huron, Michigan. Mark handled cases in Contracts & Agreements, Public Finance & Tax Exempt Finance, Real Estate and attended Michigan State University College of Law.

Mark is survived by his sister, Tamara Sihon and nephews, Paul A. and Mark A. Sihon. He is preceded in death by both his father and mother, Alexis and Sophie Sokoloff, and a brother, Alexis Russell Sokoloff.

Services by Pollock-Randall Funeral Home of Port Huron, Michigan. Cremation has already taken place.

A celebration of life is planned for a later date.
